Cranberry Bog
Cranberry bog is in the family of glazes called copper reds. Copper reds are famously difficult and this glaze is no exception. I spent 10 months developing this color group and it still gives me occasional difficulties.

The red in this glaze comes from an oxide of copper. It is the result of depriving the glaze of oxygen during the kiln firing (a process called reduction). All this is to say that achieving a copper red is like walking a tightrope. A little too much or too little reduction and you don’t get the color red.
